Precious Art

If this was your artistic creation, you should probably discuss with your parents a few key things. Love and loyalty! This was made for someone and they got rid of it as soon as a few pieces started falling off. Sad.

A friend of mine bought the nesting dolls so I sent the bobble head home with her. I'm a good friend.

Merry Christmas Stocking

Hahaha. This dirty old sock was donated just like this. It made me laugh. I hope everyone had a peaceful merry Christmas!

Masks!

These are unique because I've never seen them before. Also, El Diablo has real horns nailed on it. I do love El Burro's luxurious eyelashes.

Fuzzy!

Don't worry, it's not alive. It does make me look like I have a rather large, impressive brain though.

They have a club!

Who wants to join? You could wear these cufflinks and I think the small thing goes in a buttonhole.

Coats!

I didn't take a picture today. I was too busy with everything going on. You've all seen coats before though so we probably don't need a picture. The boxes and bags were plentiful though. It was a pretty cool sight and I didn't think about taking the picture. Basically, we received a donation of over 400 coats, a plethora of blankets, and boxes of food today. It was the end results of an eagle scout project. Because of the thrift store's community outreach programs, we were the recipients of all those items. The store was lucky enough to have a service project going on today as well. The department I work for, decided to have a team building meeting at the store and we all worked together for a few hours. Those wonderful people had all the coats hung and put out in a couple of hours. I was amazed and so excited at the ability we had to provide very inexpensive coats so quickly.  They helped deliver the food to the homeless shelter and we started on pricing the blankets, also inexpensively. I really love this time of year and I love the spirit of giving that seems to infect everyone like a happy love virus! I'm not talking about STDs here. Anyway, it was a fun and busy day and I want to remember it for a long time so I decided it would be my donation of the day post even if I didn't have sub-par pictures with random crap in the background. Those are MY favorite donation of the day pictures too! Merry Christmas or Happy Whatever flavor of holiday your family celebrates this glorious winter season. I am re-energized by days like today. Stay warm!

Eskimo gloves

I tried these on. You can only walk with them. Good luck trying to do anything else like picking things up. They are cute and fuzzy though!

Holding it in

One of my volunteers donated this. She said her son gave it to her because she gave him a weird statue once. I told her that it looked like the statue needed to go to the bathroom. Badly. She probably got interrupted, by the call of nature, when she was getting dressed. This would explain why she isn't half her clothes. I'm sorry if this statue holds any holy significance for you.

Scary Santa

It's vintage! To quote my boss, "Just because it's old, doesn't mean it's worth anything." This Santa is creepy. What is the deal with his white face and florescent rosy spots? His velvet suit was disintigrating and his body was made out of styrafoam that was also disintigrating. I broke his leg and felt bad at first until I realized what he was made out of and the condition he was in. Sometimes people donate things because they don't have to feel guilty about throwing something away.

Volunteer love

We couldn't do what we do without all our lovely volunteers. I am so thankful for these wonderful people. We are having a Christmas party for them today so I thought this plaque was appropriate. It was donated and I've got it hanging by my desk. It replaced the sexy pocket.

Mommy and Baby snake pins

These are over 30 years old. Vintage, beautiful, and creepy. Love the rhinestones.

Matching Mugs

They are both red and white! They also form a sentence. Kiss my Mr. Asshole. Hehe I am probably the only one who thinks I'm funny but that's okay.

Versatile Reptile

This pin is neat! It's vintage AND a snake. It doesn't get much better than that.

It can be worn this way.

OR this way.

and probably more ways but I have work to do and I can't play with it anymore.

Made in Denmark

Um... what does someone say about these treasures. The hair is made out of animal fur. The bodies are made out of trees. The little one needs more clothing but she accessorized with a necklace.

Secondary Ear Wax Storage

I know I've posted something like this before, but it is still funny when we get them. Funny, gross, and sad. There was only one. It probably fell out when they were loading up the clothing they donated. That's where I found this one. It fell out of some clothing as we were sorting through it.

Inspirational Journal

This quote is what I needed to read today! I need to remind myself to skip the reverse gear of life.

I can't find my teef (said as if you were missing teeth)

What is better, finding a spider in the donation or this? I'm still internally debating that question. The disturbing thing is they wrapped it up when it was still wet enough to make the paper stick to it. GROSS!
*Conversation about these with my sister. Her - They were gross and jagged looking. Me- I know, if I had to have fake teeth, I would at least ask the dentist to make them beautiful!

Cup Surprise!

Darth Vader found a surprise in his cup. He couldn't tell if it was supposed to be a worm or excrement.

Redneck Wine Glass

My boss saw these at a store for $10 each. He decided to make his own with some of the donations we get. Candlestick holder, red solo cup, and hot glue!

Golf Ball Surprise!

I found the following on my desk. I wondered why there was a hole in it and a cut around the middle.

So I opened it and found this!

That was a fun surprise. Then we found a couple more a few days later. I think it must have been a large donation and that is why it took so long for these to show up. They are displayed on a golf tee.

Such cute faces.

I only showed the cleanest ones, the rest have swear words on them. Still funny.

Cats!

On one hand, this took a lot of talent to make. On the other hand, I don't see the fascination with cats having babies immortalized into inanimate objects. It brings to mind another post.

This ornament causes a mixture of fascination and confusion.

Ah, Texas

This was too good not to share. It was probably made from a whole sapling.

I remember the commercials for this stuff

We tried this stuff out on a fuzzy squirrel bank to see if it works. It stinks! Boss quote, "It makes you high so you don't care if you are bald or not." He always refers to his hair as a cul de sac and that he is working on the roadways in. I had to google how to spell that and I found out it means butt of the sack in French. haha So much funny.

X-large for all your containing needs

I'm sorry for thinking these are funny. I know there are many times that these can be useful for medical problems. They are still funny though, mostly because I was sorting through clothing and didn't expect them.

Acid Trip Nativity

This is a unique idea for a Nativity. Gaudy too. I just can't describe my feelings right now. I took pictures of all the sides of this masterpiece. I threw this away after I took the pictures but knowing my luck, someone from my facebook friend's list is going to want it.
