There is a funny story to go with this donation. My boss is a great guy and he has a really strong work ethic. He has only gone home sick one time in the 3 or so years I've worked with him. Today just happened to be that day. So I put this on his desk with a get well soon note.

Ugly sweater contest winner

At least I'm sure this sweater could win many contests.

There are a few things that disturbed me about this sweater even if the lederhosen almost made it whimsically funny. The fact that he doesn't have a shirt on but he has buttons, that is odd. Unless his shirt is bear pelt color and then he just doesn't have much fashion sense. The other disturbing thing was something a friend pinpointed for me. Either the bear ate the human or it's a human wearing a bear pelt the way Kenny from Southpark wears his hoodie. Where the heck did the nose go? Maybe the mommy bear stole it when he was a baby?

Accidental donation?

I sure hope this donation was an accident. The scenario that comes to mind is the following:

Parents get SO sick of their child/children's horridly messy room that they go in with black garbage bags and start shoveling in the mounds of items. They were lucky enough to miss this little gem with this method of donation. This was donated in mid-December. I'm thinking they were going through their old stuff and donating it to make room for new stuff they would get for Christmas. This rotted, dessicated mini Halloween pumpkin was stuck to some pajama bottoms. Rotten ALL the way through! I only found it because I happened to step on it and hear it crunch. NOT squish but crunch. It was that old. I kept thinking to myself, as I quickly threw it away, that I had spores on my shoe. That color of pink is not a natural pumpkin color either! This donation may have scarred me a little bit.

The last couple of years we've been doing ugly sweater contests for our Thrift Store Christmas parties. We are lucky because we can find AMAZING sweaters/sweatshirts. This is one example.
