This is an extremely rare set of bone china. Knowles Taylor and Knowles were known for hotel and restaurant style china dishes. When I was researching this company, it was so interesting. They only managed to make bone china for a few short years. They managed to win many awards though. It was arguably the finest bone china produced in America. Sadly they couldn't keep producing it because it cost so much more than what they made on it. During the firing process only 1 out 12 attempts were successful. They were still using the kilns that were made for their sturdy china. The delicate filigree couldn't hold up. Interesting history from an interesting company. Very early 1900s. ~1904
