Good luck flip flops?

I keep wondering why they look brand new. Why didn't someone want to wear these beauties?

Keeping up appearances

I've never seen a fake tomato plant before. I was thinking of all the possibilities. I want a whole garden full so that it looks like I can grow things, all the time, all year round. The neighbors would be impressed and wonder why you weren't ditching all your excess produce on their front porch.

Hard of Hearing?

I have 4 or 5 volunteers that are hard of hearing. It is funny to listen to them have conversations with each other. It is always hit or miss if the response matches the question. They all thought this pin was hilarious.

Beach Burro with Beer

This was a page inside a travel book for Acapulco. They had a bunch of different beach pictures and this one seemed a little random. If you'd like to see burros drinking beer on a beach, then visit Acapulco!

Christmas is coming!!

This is just to advertise that we started putting Christmas items out. It's funny because it was still 97 degrees when we started. Most years it kills my Christmas spirit and I can't get rid of the glitter until January.

This is cute though.

It's a well known fact

When I was young, I threw a rock. This sign reminds me of that traumatic moment in my life. The poor guy has never been the same. It may have helped his brain to function better though.

Donated just in time!

Usually we are given items AFTER events have passed. This time, this breast cancer awareness bracelet was given to us just in time for Breat Cancer awareness month! We also have a donation cash box that the proceeds will go towards a breast cancer fund. In the past it has paid for mammograms for women that can't afford them and it has saved lives! I'm very fortunate to work in such a place that we are able to help so many people. I gave this bracelet to a 14 year old boy and he is wearing it proudly. :)

Rainbow fish, is that you?

I think recycling is amazing! We essentially recycle almost everything at the thrift store. We recycle e-waste and and clothing too! Anyway, I thought this little fish was adorable and it looked cute on my mouse pad.

Weird happenings

Something happened to this bottle. Either, the bottle design team dabbled in recreational drugs, or aliens.
Some of the quips we came up with at the store. May go straight to the hips/gut. Well endowed Soda. It looks like like a matronly una-boob.

Also, why would you donate a drink to a thrift store?

Sith lords get hungry too

Darth Vader wanted to help me with the donation of the day today. NO the gloves aren't for sale.

Family Betrayal!

It says, To: Aunt Mary. She is either cold-hearted, or no longer around and someone else donated this.

Also, I wanted to share the FB friend post of the day, on my wall. When I'm sorting clothes, I recycle some for the good of the rest of the world and to preserve the modesty of the random woman/man that would buy the tiny scrap of clothing, like daisy dukes.

Ooo la la!

I have this sweet woman that donates jewelry every month or so. It is all over 30 years old and like new. She had wholesale jewelry store where she lived. Her husband gave her 3 weeks notice of their impending move so she packed it all up and brought it with her. She has a garage full of this fun stuff! This lovely piece was in the jewelry she donated today. It is so fun and you could use it to get a job in Las Vegas!

You all know someone that could benefit from this book

I'm going to share a few of the rules that I thought were particularly hilarious.

When in company, put not your hands to any part of the body, not usually discovered. (This made me snicker)

Show nothing to your friend that may affright him. (haha, so funny)

When you see a crime punished, you may be inwardly pleased, but always show pity to the suffering offender.

In visiting the sick, do not presently play the physician if you be not knowing therein.

While you are talking, point not with your finger at him of whom you discourse nor approach too near him to whom you talk, especially to his face.

Labour to keep alive in your breast that little celestial fire called conscience.

In the presence of others sing not to yourself with a humming noise, nor drum with your fingers or feet.
(I'm particularly rude because sing to myself all the time)

Put not off your clothes in the presence of others, nor go out your chamber half dressed. (This rule has been thrown to the wind in this day and age)

Keep your nails clean and short, also your hands and teeth clean, yet without showing any great concern for them.

Reprehend not the imperfections of others, for that belongs to parents, masters, and superiors. (SOO, next time your parent tells you of your failings, it's okay. It's their job.)

If two contend together, take not the part of either unconstrained; and be not obstinate in your own opinion; in things indifferent be of the major side. (This one is for all those political posters out there lol)

There are a lot more rules, 110 total to be exact. This book is a gem.

Public Service Announcement

The Thrift Store recycles a lot of different things. Even clothes. It doesn't mean I like seeing stuff like the following but we do recycle it.

ooo OOOO oo (Alien music)

These are neat clip on earrings. I think they look like UFOs.

I swear I saw this during the supposed missile testing on Sept. 11th, 2012

Well there ya have it!

Love the title

This rolls off your tongue nicely and is a great alternative use for flip flops.

The most important household item besides water

It's a toilet paper kind of day. This wooden toilet paper dispenser is made like a fishing reel. It's pretty cool and makes clicking noises when you turn it.

I was told by a John Wayne buff that this roll of toilet paper is highly collectable because it was made without permission. Black market toilet paper! There is a picture of John Wayne on the other side.

Polyester goodness

This leotard made me laugh. The collar especially.

Romantical Engravings

Aww, just what I want to commerate my wedding day. A giant beer mug with our names and the date engraved on it.

And on the other side let's engrave something else!

So who did Maureen marry, Mark or Mike? Maybe it was the day they conceived a future child they would name Mark? I'm pretty confused. Regardless, it held so much sentimental value that it ended up donated. (sarcasm)

Haha - Cheeky!
